A Very Snowy Saturday!

All week, there has been talk of this mammoth snow storm that was going to hit this weekend!  First, we were to get up to 18" of snow...then it was 8-12"...then this morning, it switched to 1-3".  Finally, the weathermen all concurred that they had absolutely NO idea what was going to happen (about time!)  Instead of forecasting, they call it "nowcasting" - hilarious!  The day started out with cold rain.  I went to go workout and on my way home, the rain had changed to sleet and had started to accumulate on the roads.  Just between Blue Springs and Grain Valley (barely 5 miles) I saw several cars in the ditch.  I was happy to make it home safely.

We all had a great day at home today!  The kiddos didn't even get out of their pj's :)  We just enjoyed each other...got some cleaning some, read books and just enjoyed being together...those are the best days.  Daddy and Salomé both took well deserved naps!  Last night, Mark and Cruz went to the Apple store and brought back a new MacBook!  We love it!

Cruz and Salomé love the new computer!  Cruz was "teaching" Salomé how to read on his favorite site - Starfall

Salomé kept wanting to go "ow-side"!

Weekend at Grandma & Grandpa's!

After Mark's basketball game, unfortunately, he had to ride the bus back with the team.  So, the kids and I stayed at mom and dad's Saturday night and Sunday.  It was so relaxing!  Cruz got to catch his first fish!  He was SO excited!  I thought Dad was going to lose his mind trying to get all three boys (Cruz, Josh and AJ) all ready to fish at once :)  Dad was right when he called it a circus :)  Cruz loves to spend time with his cousins!  That evening dad started a campfire.  The boys enjoyed throwing sticks/leaves in the fire...Salomé just enjoyed sitting on grandpa's lap.  It was a wonderful weekend all around!

Salomé LOVED sitting on grandpa's lap during the campfire

Can you tell we are all related?

Josh was the fire KING!!

Cruz loved sitting on the stump by the pond!
Salomé was the "keeper" of the worms!

YEAH!  Cruz's first fish!  We couldn't get him to kiss it though :)

Mark's Team Wins Gold!

Last weekend was great!  Mark's Special Olympics basketball team played in the state championship tournament in St. Charles, MO.  Mark left early Friday morning and rode the bus with the team.  The kids and I didn't leave until after school.  I quickly learned how hard it is to travel 4 hours alone with a 4 year old and a 20 month old!  It was definitely an adventure!  The kids and I stayed at my parents house on Friday night.  Mom, Dad, the kids and I went and picked up my nephews Josh and AJ.  We all piled in the van and went to St. Charles to cheer on Mark and his team!  As you can see - we all had a great time!  I am SO proud of Mark!

The athletes and the BEST coach in the world!

We are so blessed to have such a beautiful family!

First Time!

Hi everyone!  It is the night before we start school again (after spring break) and of course I am up late :)  I have some close friends who have ADORABLE blogs...I just had to start one!  My hope is that I can update this with pictures and notes about what is happening in the Haley household!  I know that I am update things on Facebook quite a bit - but not everyone has Facebook.

We had a great spring break!  Mark was busy with baseball (he is such an amazing coach) - and the kids kept us busy of course!  I tackled some serious cleaning/organizing.  Mark took the kids in the afternoons so I could have time to get some stuff done around the house.  I would love to say that it is all finished, but not quite yet :) However, it is MUCH better than when break started!

I cannot believe that it is time to go back to school!  I have a great student teacher, so I am excited about that! However, the kiddos will most likely be a challenge tomorrow (I can't blame them!!).  Here's to a great week!  I will post more pics soon!
